20/20 Reflections on the past, Visions for the future
Call for Abstracts
Over the last few years, Naturopaths & Medical Herbalists of NZ (Inc) has been building a conference culture focusing on the dissemination of information that reflects and supports both traditional practice and evidence-based clinical tools and research. We aim to provide an environment where delegates can learn new ways to enhance their practice and then apply that knowledge. Due to on-going Covid19 restrictions, our 2021 conference will be held online with attendees signing in from the comfort and safety of their own space from Saturday 7 August - Sunday 8 August 2021.
The Events sub-committee invites natural medicine experts, professors, naturopathic practitioners, herbalists, doctors, allied professional and researchers to submit an abstract to present and address conference delegates.
The submission deadline is 30 April 2021
Submissions should relate to original research, reviews or case studies in alignment with our 2021 conference theme: 20/20 Reflections on our past. Visions for the future. We anticipate several threads related to this theme including: Roots of naturopathic medicine, Current themes in naturopathy, Traditions in herbal medicine, Research advances, Case reports, A created future.
Significant learning objectives related to your presentation must be included in your submission.
The scientific committee will review abstracts and select for Oral presentation based on the following criteria:
- Learning objectives
- Relevance to the theme
- Significance and originality of material
- Documented speaker qualifications and experience
All submitters will receive notification approximately 3-4 weeks after the submission deadline. Oral presentation time and requirements will be specified when the program is finalised.
All materials must be free from commercial bias and must be the presenter’s original material. We require disclosure for any conflict of interest.
Presenters are offered a preferred registration fee.
All the following must be included in your submission. Incomplete abstracts will not be reviewed. Abstract must be submitted on the appropriate form, in MSWord format. One abstract per submission type.
- Presenter information, including your qualifications as you would like them to appear after your name.
- Abridged biography (100 words max)
- Title of the Presentation (maximum 10 words)
- Abstract (maximum 100 words) – note that this is what will be published in our conference programme
- 3 Learning objectives
