My healthcare journey started straight out of high school and now spans over 40years. At GreenLane Hospital - then a global leader in cardiovascular disease - I became an NZRN. After extensive experience in a broad range of healthcare settings in 2004, I completed triple diplomas in natural therapies & opened House of Health in downtown Auckland. Roles in education included lead tutor/lecturer, programme leader and course developer (Wellpark College of Natural Therapies), on degree programmes at Unitec (BNurs), NZ College of Massage (BHlthS) and for the Master of Naturopathy (SCU, Australia). In 2014 I completed a MHSc [Hons](UofA), and served 6yrs on NMHNZ committee, incl 3 terms as VP. I have a strong clinical focus on gut health, IBS and small intestinal bacterial overgrowth, consulting at The Auckland Gut Clinic. I am currently a PhD researcher (investigating the gut microbiome and fibromyalgia) via the University of Sydney. Visit www.thefidgitstudy to find out more/get involved.
