Direct Membership
You are eligible for direct membership if you are a naturopath with a New Zealand qualification of a Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited New Zealand college within the last 2 years, or if you have been a member of some New Zealand and Australian Naturopath associations within the last 2 years. Please check eligibility by emailing admin@naturopath.org.nz
We accept Naturopathic Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or higher from South Pacific College of Natural Medicine and Wellpark College. If you have not graduated within the last 2 years please check the other entry types below.
These documents are required to be uploaded and reviewed before your membership application can be approved.
Requirements from January, 2022
New registrations for Non-Practicing memberships from the 1st of January, 2022 are only available to those who have graduated from a New Zealand Naturopathic College in the last 2 years with a minimum of a three year Bachelor's Degree. Should you wish to become a member you would be required to join via a non-direct membership pathway and become a full professional member and engage in continuing education.
Non-direct pathways to membership.
If it has been between 2 and 5 years since you graduated from a New Zealand Naturopathic College, or you have gained qualifications within that time frame from an overseas institution, there are non-direct pathways to membership. Please contact our administrator for more details. There is a one-off cost of $NZ175 which is non-refundable to cover an initial assessment to determine which pathway is most appropriate if you are able to join NMHNZ. Further fees may apply should you require further assessment.

Indirect Membership Entry
To join NMHNZ you will need to have graduated within the last two years with a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree, or will need to have been a member of another naturopath organisation within the last two years. If these conditions are not met then you may still be eligible by having your qualification, continuing education and experience assessed via our pathway process. We will be measuring if these are the equivalent or higher of graduating recently with a Bachelor’s degree from a New Zealand college. This also applies to those with an overseas qualification.
